[quote]
While I am athirst in the desert of existence,
You’re drinking Nectar somewhere in the heavenly abode!
If only I knew the road,
I’d go up there and snatch it immediately.
O Master,
Gloriest of all Glory!
Wouldn’t You consider it fair
To spill down just a few drops
For me?

The Poet: Supreme Master Ching Hai
Supreme Master Ching Hai is a world-renowned spiritual teacher, humanitarian, poet and artist. Her universal message of peace and compassion has inspired millions of people. Through her artistic works, she has created an independent source of funding for her charity work around the globe, carried out by the Supreme Master Ching Hai International Association. For her dedication to the relief of suffering for all people, she was recognized with the 2006 Gusi Peace Prize, which is viewed as the Asian-equivalent of the Nobel Peace Prize.
Since her youth, Supreme Master Ching Hai has always been a poetry lover and a gifted poet. As the legendary Broadway director/lyricist Richard Maltby (Miss Saigon, Fosse) noted, “All her life, Supreme Master Ching Hai has written poetry. She conveyed the feelings that passed through her heart and mind as she lived her life in powerfully rich verses, in imagistic writing that turned human events into poetic expression.”
Over the years, Supreme Master Ching Hai’s published verses have been set to music by inspired composers of the highest caliber and presented through CDs, benefit concerts, and two acclaimed Broadway-style musicals. One of them is the star-studded and inspirational musical: Loving the Silent Tears.

Loving the Silent Tears: The Musical
Loving the Silent Tears is a unique musical that was created by 2-time Academy Award-winning composer Al Kasha, who was inspired by Supreme Master Ching Hai’s poetry collection, titled Silent Tears. Written in her 30s, these poems – simple, profound, and often humorous – reflect a Truth seeker’s inner spiritual journey, the joy along with the tribulations, in search of everlasting fulfillment.
The world premiere took place on October 27, 2012 at the famous Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California, USA, and received a standing ovation from over 6,000 people in attendance. It was directed by Tony nominee Vincent Paterson (Michael Jackson’s and Madonna’s world tours) and choreographed by Emmy winner Bonnie Story (High School Musical 1, 2, 3).
